Those with memory longer than yesterday’s copy of the Beano, will remember that we (soft lads as we are) went camping in February.

From time to time, we’ve chatted about doing it again. So why not? Having this in mind, how about finding a weekend that coincides with a Six-Nation’s event, so we can watch it in the pub, as we did last time? If this suits everyone, this might work:

Friday 06 February - Arrive and have supper in the pub

Saturday 07 February - England v Wales KO 16:40 - Followed by a BBQ in the dark!

Sunday 08 February - Depart

Venue: I’d suggest a return to the Seven Stars pub and campsite, not least because:

A. We know it works

B. The campsite seems less likely to become a bog

Whilst we mull it over, here’s some inspiration:

100% yes please.

I agree that whilst it’s interesting to try new venues, we know that the seven stars ticks all the boxes we need. Plus the proprietors don’t seem to mind us too much!

It’s in the diary. 👍

I agree, The downside is that, given the date, many places are shut and / or are obliged to shut at short notice, if the weather has been very wet.

Hopefully we can have a spring / summer / autumn event (or events) and try out other places, too? If we had say, three events a year, then maybe: February, June and October might work?

What an utterly stupid time of the year to go camping!

Excellent stuff - put me down, minus dog as the loopy Labrador is quite burdensome so will leave her at home with the wife!

Yep, when we visited the Seven Stars because Hurst View was washed out, the weather conditions could not have been worse. But the Stars’ field nonchalantly shrugged it off. Perfect all-weather venue.

Oi Ski where are you ??? you going to put on your big boys pants and come and join us

I'm in. BBQ discussion closer to the time with numbers for the BBQ and wood etc. I am not ordering sausage for anyone Unless you're a hard core braai fan...Can we also sort out better catering to stop the over catering...?
