Does anyone know of company in the south who might be able to have a look at a pair of spoked wheels?
Mine are black and I may even think about getting the finish tidied up at the same time.

Thanks.

Doug Richardson did a wheel for me a few years back , it was better than BMW spec when it came back

I went to Doug Richardson about having the wheels on my Yamaha Super Tenere rebuilt with stainless steel spokes. To be honest, he messed me about a bit before telling me that he didn’t want to rebuild Yamaha rims and telling me to look elsewhere. A pretty disappointing experience. A mate of mine went to Alf Hagon to have his Super Tenere wheels rebuilt with stainless spokes and there was no mucking about and Alf Hagon did a cracking job for him so I will be going there at some point.

When I was with BMW, I did a lot of these checks/recalls for the spoked wheels.

Literally, the check was...

"Go around the spokes with a screwdriver and tap on the spokes. If they go 'Ping' they're fine. If they go 'bong' or are lose to the touch, re-torque the spokes"

You can re-torque the spokes if there are less than SEVEN loose spokes. There is a specific procedure how to do it and you do need a spoke torque wrench. I have the recall instructions printed out somewhere.

If there were more than seven losoe spokes, BMW told us to destroy and replace the wheel FOC.

Personally through experience, if you have 2-3 lose spokes, just nip them up until they go "ping" again and all will be well.
