The newer GS and AT. Indifferent. The next bike I buy is likely to have this, So it is what it is. That's not the same as Fog lights being on, Or the Polite vest though !

There are no fuses for the aux lights beyond the built in fuse action in the ZFE (Google polyfuse...)
LED lights do occasionally fail, as any other technical item.
Worth considering: On some bikes, the cable leading to the light is routed in such a way that any drop of water will lead directly to the connector and this will lead to corrosion.
For the 3 GSAa that have been in my ownership they all needed a slight rerouting of the cable feeding the auxlight to make the water to flow uphill in order to reach the connector.

Hi viz doesn’t really have much effect other than at slow speed.
The reason I use a triangle light set up is that it is easily seen from a long distance away and it helps people to gauge my speed better. I don’t need hi viz also, I have all I need to do the ‘getting seen’ bit. Hi viz is bollocks on a motorcycle in my opinion, a Sam brown belt or hi vis would only ever be seen from behind, which is not where 99% of the danger comes from, pointless being seen after you’ve overtaken!
Yes in town it might help a little, but if the fecktards behind you can’t see a feck off massive adventure bike with a fat c@nt on board, a hi vis isn’t curing his blindness!
I don’t use a noisy exhaust pipe as a safety device either, unlike many, I think you’ve got to ba a bit thick if you think making farting noises on your GS will save you from an accident. You only ever hear a motorcycle once it’s passed you in a car, at that point you are not a threat. It might help with pedestrians in London, but I doubt it, those feckers would walk out in front of a tank and not think twice.
Light are, imho, one of the best ways of increasing your visibility, just make sure they are adjusted correctly.

Additionally, I have hooked the auxlight up to the CANswitch, thus it is dimmed as driving light and low-beam.
I also allow them to flash along with the signal in order to make the signal light more visible, as too much light will make the LED signal lights hard to see when the sun shines..

Must depend on your definition of”new”. My 1250 was a 21 plate and my 850 is a 70 plate. Both have had failed lights…
