Mmmmmmm.....................

What do you think?

Smaller 1200GS??

Ha.....Photoshop :thumb

Looks good though :thumb

I imagine it won't be far from the truth though as BWM seem keen to maintain familly resemblances within ranges.

RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :barf

I hope it ends up looking a LOT better than that, or I'll be buying one of the last 650 Dakars before they kill a fab bike.

Not impressesd at all :nono

The one in MCN looks like a 1200GS with an 800 power unit. It even has a belt drive rather than a chain
Blurb on the side did say it would have a chain and it still needed a lot of work to turn it into a GS that could be used off road
Extra power would be good especially in a lighter bike :thumb

F800GS

Imagine the top spec model. A cross between a 1200 ADV and a 650 Dakar. I could be very tempted, this could be a serious adventure bike that I could tour on and handle off road.

I'll keeping an eye on this one. ;)

It looks shite. Bad Photoshop. Take a look at the clutch for example. On the steering bars we see an hydraulically operated clutch. On the engine however we see a cable operated clutch.

Furthermore, where is the fuel tank? As we all know from the F800 engine pictures we all have seen before, the intake ports point upwards. So the airbox has to be where the 1200's fuel tank is.

So my conclusion is: this picture tells us nothing. It's definately no spyshot.

Next please!

Man! What's that THING?

I wish the bike replacing my F650 (if ever...) to be lighter and with a little more off-road capabilities.

If I had to buy a heavier and bigger bike, I'd rather go with the 1200.

Not impressed at all! ..I hope it's a fake! :spitfire

Cheers :beerjug:

I would be over the moon if it looked like that!

Yup - me too - I'd get as far away from it as possible !!!
A bike has to have some identity and that just looks like the b@stard child of the 1200. I would hope that BMW would be able to do a whole lot better than that otherwise they are seriously lacking in the imagination department.

Why slag something before it's built. IMHO 70-75 BHP in a bike weighing perhaps 170/180 Kg, hopefully slightly less complicated to maintain ' in the field ' represents a very viable alterntative for adventure touring. The advantages of the 650 re lightness but with the few extra BHP that I feel is necessary.

Review of F800 in todays Telegraph

Kevin Ash has reviewed the F800S/ST in today's Telegraph motoring section and he rates it highly.

Linky thingy

This weeks MCN... "Brilliant" 5 stars for the F800S and 4 stars for the ST... very encouraging. Just been watching Christian P's winning stunt routine on his streetfightered F800S at www.bmw-motorrad.com/motorsport. This is all getting me very excited about the new engine and bikes. Looking forward to a test ride next month and hoping the F800GS will appear at the NEC this year :thumb

Wow!

If this is where BM are headed, I'm goin along for the ride.....
