I am fuming... Had all sorts on here after trying to download a video codec. Managed to remove most of it with ad-aware and Spy Sweeper but you just know when i have something still there in the background. Tried the registry, startup programmes, and now i got something wrong with messenger.
When i sign in to messenger all is well, but when i click on the little number telling me how many e-mails i got it opens new window (IE) i see my mail for a second then page comes up with http://www.dnserror404.com/ in the address field and and just below telling me to download spy trooper to resolve it.Which of course you would pay for.....Really doin me ead in
Anyone had this before or can come up with some software to kill kill kill. Ad-aware and spysweeper are good but this is really PC out of the window time
First of all DO NOT download Spy Trooper, it's Spy Ware, if you have got it, google it and study all the stories on how to remove it, I think I fell for this before as I had to use "Hijack this" to help remove it and you have to edit the registry as well.
I suggest you try "Spy Sweeper" from www.webroot.com this find spys that neither Spybot or Ad-aware can find. I think there is a free demo version but otherwise it's £25.
Another helpful site is www.kayodeok.btinternet.co.uk it just takes some careful searching and reading as no matter what your problem is the chances are someone else has been there before. Best of luck.
Found an old copy of Spy Sweeper i had on disc from a couple of years ago.Forgot i had it and tried it.... All seems to be fine. Downloaded free version of ad-aware too. With them both all seems ok at the moment.
Tried windows defender beta too but had a problem with my windows key
