Squeaky idle

Hi, I have searched in vain and can't seem to find anything on this...

I have an '06 1200GSA with about 23k miles on the clock. Hard miles too. Kazakh desert, shite fuel etc etc.

Bike was not ridden for about 6mths after having to arrange for some import/export stuff. After which I had a major service done by a dealer.

Since then I can hear a definite squeaky sound on idle. I have never noticed it before, but am not entirely sure becuase I hadn't ridden the bike for 6mths.

Before I start nagging the dealer to look into it I was wondering if anyone has experience with this.

Not really any other simptoms/issues, just this intermittant squeak coming from the front of the engine where the timing belt is.

Alternator belt, almost certainly. If not, could be a noisy alternator bearing.

Pop the front cover off and have a look at the condition of the belt - if in doubt stick a new one on, they're fairly cheap.

its the alternator belt not the timing, to see if it is the belt spray a bit of water on it when running and the noise should stop.
