Has anyone any experience of making up headsets for Starcom kit?

I've got an NOS Autocom mic, so thought I'd throw it in an ear-bud conversion for my Starcom set... is it likely to have the same characteristics as a Starcom item?

I have the starcom digital, I have altered the open face set to take earphones by adding a female din connector so I can use my in ear molded earphones. Great bit of kit. However No real experience with the Autocom.

In theory it should work give it a go.

Headsets are not expensive from starcom..

Finished it earlier - tried it - success!

Total cost:

1 x male-male mini din lead from ebay £1.99 delivered (I cut it in two so I can make another headset later
1 x 3.5mm stereo jack socket from Maplin £1.59

1 x cheap mic from my parts box -- £ free

heat shrink tube - parts box £ free

2 years at Uni learning how to solder ... priceless....
