I know that its been winter and its been frosty etc. but the roads really are in a shit state around this area, some of the glen roads are breaking up from a combination of frost damage ,water, and wood lorries running on them constantly.Be very careful if your out for a run soon because it will be feckin dangerous.:rob

It's been hard work in the car.....:(

just as well I ride a 1200GSA, it'll be fine..... ......those KTMs however, they'll break up on impact.....:pullface

Can you read the road better on a GS than a Pan:nenau

I was oot on Saturday scooting through Galloway forest and at points the inside edge of corners had disappeared totally and the amount of grit still lying about was incredible.

I don't think this grit, road break up is going to be fixed anytime soon :(

no, but if i happen tae no see one on the gs it seems tae just tae clatter ower the top of them whereas the pan (exellent machine that it is) gets unstable real quickly if ye touch ony wee stanes, gravel or ridges

I took a run round the loch on friday on my 1150 gs and the road is in a whore o a state, big potholes and shite lyin all over the road. I drive Inverness to fort bill two or three times a week and its the same all the way, and gauranteed to get a whole lot worse.

right feck it.....I'm buying one of these....:type

Anyone owning a sportsbike will have a hard time enjoying properly i reckon,There is so much work needing done that the good biking roads may well be done last. Have to cancel that 1000rr:augie

Roads in southern Ireland other that Main roads since the recent cold spell are nothing short of a disgrace, looking for an AT or a GS1150/F800GS to get me around

roads disgrace

I broke the front springs on my auld Audi A2 coming back from Galsgow at the Auchterarder turnoff on 10th Jan, made it home to Nairn OK, when I got the springs replaced at local garage I explained the story and was told to claim from my insurance, I thought would be a non starter but they have agreed to cough up - bill for the springs & other associated strut top bearings etc was over 400 quid !!

Still havent paid out yet but its 'pending'.. so we'll see :augie

shouldnt affect NCB only my q low excess so cant complain really..

a lot of the roads round here have been "repaired"
lasted 2 to 3 days and the holes were back,
shoddy as feck, its worse now as theres the holes, gravel and the bits thats come out of the holes all over the road now

Took a run up to Inversnaid on Sunday, same story, with pot holes, debris, subsidence, salt and grit all over the place.

This morning as the sun was out I took the long way to work along the B769 Stewarton Road. I think that Renfrewshire must have swapped salt supplier or started to use a salt/grit mix as there was literaly a bar of grit between the 4 wheeler tracks. Made things interesting trying to position for the bends.

HID's on the front

Sorry if this's Hitler Arc but if the box doesn't have self levelling suspension or headlights then technically illegal. The same regs don't apply to bikes. Loads of threads on here of course quoting applicable regs.
