Thought mine was a riders report !!
Don't make no difference what bike it's on a steering damper does exactly what it says on the tin.
It DAMPENS the steering.
It's not rocket science.

Might be speed sensitive.

Can anyone offer a riders report on the difference in the steering between the pre-damped (risk) bike and thew now damped (safe) bike?
Just interested if the rider can feel any difference between the two bikes!
Blindfold test not necessary!

Still turns and handles great - and I guess the fact it's there in the background in case things get ugly can't be a bad thing...

I think a damper would sterilise the ride.
Can one make the bike even safer by fitting 2 dampers?
I rode the 2013 model when it was launched. Having just picked up my 2014 last week I think there is little to choose between the two. Handling at speed feels much the same and the steering doesn't feel sluggish even at low speeds. In any event if you don't like the damper it looks dead easy to remove!
Hi
I have the 21014 model with steering damper, on first day out i was looking at the bike and not the road and drifted into a rut at the side of the road. The steering was trying its hardest to get a full
on tank slapper going but the damper held it steady and i was able to maintain control. That said it did not stop me contemplating my life, the damage and the pain in about 2 seconds. The only damage was a lot of grass and seeds.
I test rode a 2013 model and i am convinced that without the damper things would have had more to contemplate.
There are people who wont ride a bike without a steering damper, and the rest of us who say "whats a steering damper?"
What do you suspect Mrs K.Ash would say?
