The motronic unit holds more than one map. The CCP commands it to load up the appropriate one, which is for a cat and standard exhaust can.
If you fit a Y piece and less restrictive end can, this map is wrong and your fuelling will be out. If its lean this is potentially dangerous.
Steptoe found that by placing a link wire in the terminals shown above, it commands the motronic to load up a map for a unrestricted exhausts system. Note this is a general map and whilst better than the standard one, it is a general map and probably wont be 100% perfect. Although it apparently feels 100% better.
The only way to get your fuelling spot on, is on a dyno and have a custom map written for your specific bike. You would need a techlusion box or power commander to hold this map.
