Basturds.
Thanks for the heads-up Og.

Will pass the word around

 And there was me thinking no one would want to take an old transalp. :(

will keep an eye out for it but I guess it's in a box somewhere by now and heading for foreign shores? The scum are hardly going to be ridin around the roads on it.

Had a Blackbird nicked from a 'secure' car park beside an apartment I was staying at in Christchurch in Dublin a few years ago. A bit of research came back with a couple of possibilities -

boxed and shipped or sold on as mentioned
keep an eye out in autotrader or the like for a picture ad with 'is this your bike?' and a PAYG mobile number - you pay the 'ransom' and get your bike back
simply stolen and kept

Mine turned up back in Dublin about 6 or 8 months later, still on its original plates! :nenau Reported it back to the insurance company who had paid out (don't get me started on payout, £3850, and insured value, £6000, on policy - the real thieves in my opinion!) and said they'd arrange collection from the Garda station. Four months later I got another call from the same station telling me they'd recovered it... again :eek

Never heard another thing about it.

Good luck, will keep an eye out this neck of the woods.

Thanks Daithi,
for making the pic bigger - :thumb2 every little helps. :)

Bump

Our 'In Hotel Ballroom parking' does't seem so mad afterall when we stayed in Dungarvan recently!!!

Was a bit of a squeeze to try and get the BB into the lift... :D

Still no news then?

"Not a whisper unfortunately.
Worse still is that the owner has decided not to replace it and is giving up biking as he is so disheartened by the event.
He's decided to buy a van.

Thanks to all who replied and put the word out.
I'll post if it is recovered but it looks doubtful. "

makes you sick doesn't it.

Indeed, I am supposed to be going to Cork this week for sorting out my passport. Maybe I will go in the car as it's insured for theft and the bike is not.... No need here....
