As I rock off the centre stand on my Luddite GS ADV, or after I start off from the side stand, the bike alwys make a a couple of "metal meets metal" noises.

In fact it sound like the centre stand retracting, if there weren't any "stops" there.

I can't replicate it with out me on it .... Do "they all so that, sir" or should I be looking for a big chunk of metal hanging off somewhere?

Thanks

ABS

If it's a whirr - clunk sort of noise then yes you can, it's the ABS. "They all do that sir"

If it happens just as the clutch is fully home, then yes,it is the ABS setting itself.
Your description of the circumstances sound as if you are riding off the centre stand sometimes....Not a good thing to do.

I asked this very question as my first post on this site. Definitely the ABS by the sound of it. I'm sure everyone thinks I've ridden off with my side stand still down when I leave petrol stations etc. It's really loud, even with earplugs in.
