This winter we have two to play with.
The first one.
Our start point

Or race engines.
But,,,, we know a man that does.
Cleaned and ready for dispatch to Richie Moore.

Made a bit of progress before the Xmas break,
The crankcase had a fair bit of wear and scoring to the oil pump housing,
It arrived back from Germany on Xmas eve.
Pretty quick 2week turnaround

Barrels arrived back from replate as well so the motor can be worked on early in the new year.

New headraces,swing arm bearings and para bearing upgrade

Heads are back for this bike.
Just a bit different from what was despatched.

I have two bikes with 1000cc Moore speed pistons,RS heads,
One with an MS cam (328 )
One with dellorto’s
Lots of fun!
The dirt bike is close to ktm690 power and isn’t carrying a lot more weight mebbs 20kg more,

I cant get over how minimalistic those pistons are.

The last ones i had out of an XL250 were like coffee tins, big slugs of metal with loads of piston rings

Those look just like the crown and nothing else, I suppose thats progress & weight saving for you

Decided on a colour scheme yet ?

Talk about one step forward a two back.
This bike was nearly built as a rolling chassis with engine fitted etc,
The customer then decided he was totally changing his mind and wanted the frame bracing,and the crank balancing.so I pulled it all apart.will be an epic bike though once rebuilt.
