Although the 100s is a pretty powerful motor the owner wanted a bit more go.
The first issue is the camshaft,the points style/duplex timing chain .
Whilst performance cams are available from motoren Israel,the lead time is ridiculous.
Given that we had decided to replace the timing chain and fit a new ignition system plus other bits and bobs it made more sense to upgrade the motor to the later type bean can ignition and single row chain.
Once all the parts have arrived I’ll remove the motor to upgrade it.

I agree, never ridden one but they seem really good value compared to the GS. Nice retro colour given a few new cars are using a metalic gold again

That’s the short motor built,ready to go back in the frame.
Converted to later type single row timing chain,
Later type bean can moorespeed 328 cam
New cam followers and oil pump.
Wedgetail ignition system.

Nice, very interested in how this bike goes once it’s finished. The before and after photo’s of the motor remind me how shit it is working on dirty equipment and what a pleasure it is working on something that’s properly clean. Mikey gets to do both

How does the Moorespeed long skirt plus rebore/hone compare to the Siebenrock kit for cost and performance?

It appears to be a practical approach when rebuilding a tired unit, the Siebenrock kit are c£900 and in limited supply atm.
