Thought Id give an update to this as Ive had a problem since I fitted the replacement engine and it its taken me this long to find it.
The engine has been sweet but not just " snappy" or "sharp" as i would have liked, also there was a stumble/misfire at around 3.5 k,sort of like having flem in yr throat, it would only do this if you were gentle with the throttle, give it a handle full and it would be clean right through,
This was pissing me off big time as you spend a lot of time there, fuel consumption was higher as well, although i think this may have also been a result of giving it more gas to get through the stumble,
Tryed everything I know and scoured the worldwide forums and tryed some of that as well,
injectors,
throttle bodies balanced,
new plugs,plug colour good,
coils,
fuel pump regulator,
cleaned and checked all wiring and connectors to everything,
gs911,reset everything,
changed fuel,
checked pump in tank,
Ready to throw towel in and buy another bike I rechecked the valve and rockers clearances,
R/h cylinder inlet valves were 2thou too tight. 15 thou feeler gauge went in snugly no problem

opened them up a bit and VOILA cured it.

Immediately when i started it I noticed a change in the exhaust note and the urgency was back.
When I first set the clearances I knew that they were on the snug side but didnt think they would cause this, just goes to show you never stop learning.
So I would say they prefer more gap than less
Its on 101k now
