Yea but...........

They don’t really want us do they!
Remember at Applecross, just as we were settling in, the girl from the office came over and asked us not to make too much noise. The night before they had had a group in and were inundated with complaints in the morning. As we were another large group (with bikes no less) they were pre-empting problems and marking our card before we got started. :augie
If my memory of the following morning is correct, and it is at best a little fuzzy, it was the staff that had gone on the raz and were nowhere to be seen when everyone was looking for a bacon roll and a coffee!
Bunkhouses in the Highlands cater mainly to the outdoor market, most of them want to be in their bunk by 10 and out on the hill early the next morning. Campsites cater for budget holidaymakers/families.
Its fine if we take over the whole place or its somewhere that is unlikely to have other guests but other than that IMO the operators don’t really want large groups of males on the raz. :nenau
On Saturday, the staffs reaction to us ranged from wairy to incompetent to feart! The older biddie in the reception seemed ok :D

The Pikeys in adfern are rapid wee buggers, this taxi driver only went for a piss:augie

P1010019.jpg

P1010015.jpg

This wisnae for dancing...this was the toilet block! But the thieving wee cnuts had that too:nenau

P1010018.jpg

Don't be fooled Wully....if that wee cnut isn't on his swing your new deer scarer will be off the front of your GS and on his push bike before you get hame!

The neighbours camp doesn't look like much, but they've got a can of spray paint, a whole toilet block, half a taxi (including the meter which they switch on if you need to use their new toilet), a tipi canvas to keep the cold out and a new deer scarer in that shed....! In fact thats my bloody shed!!!:blast

On a plus side, it did open up a modelling contract for MENCAP:D

As Ronno says Sleeperzz is fantastic with a good pub at the end of the lane serving nosh too. This place looks okay although not sure howmany bunks and its not far from Glen Affrick which is a superb place to go on bike or foot.

Oh and by the way, don't forget the bunk house at Glen Clova , we don't have to get posh rooms or Chalets:augie Great food too and not so far North for some.

Hee's another one over in Argyll... not sure how far the PUB is though but is available to take sole accupancy at a discount.

I sent them an email asking that very question two days ago and still await any reply :(

:beerjug:

Funnily enough when I checked out I had a bar bill for £140!
When I asked the girl to get everyone a drink, she interpreted that as get everyones drink.
Wasn't too happy but had no option other than to pay. The 'lady' at reception the next morning says " it no ma problem". It will be when I'm done!

Not too impressed with the place, but breakfast was nice!

Lugs, I'm no' quite understandin' whit you meant there. Who did you intend to be buyin' a drink for and who did you end up buyin' ane for?

But even supposin' she got everyone in oor company a drink, there were 18 o' us. WTF wur we a' drinkin' that it came to £140?

Lugs asked the waitress at our table to go around the tables in our group and get everyone a drink and charge it to his room. (18 x £4.00 would be £72 worst case scenario.) I'm guessing that all drinks charged to rooms were lumped onto Lugs's room bill.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Looks as if it's 2 rounds by your reckoning there, G.C.

I know I got a round at the table and had to sign for it so surely there's some record of what Lugs actually paid for?
