Wakeup mick head :mcgun Think before you post.
I'm a GSers and it's comments like that, that would make me stop bikes riding on my land here in Dorset.

Just go and enjoy yourself :nenau and ferkup someones living.

Have a great time.

Before you start your slanging match (which incidently I won't enter into), perhaps you should refer to the DEFRA website.

I quote "Despite the outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) on a farm in Surrey, the countryside remains open."

If we find any reference to a trail being closed, it will NOT be ridden upon.

Folks, we still meet at Newlands Corner (which is a PUBLIC carpark). A decision will then be made as to whether we ride down the first lane or ride on the public road to the next, which is well outside the surveillance zone.

See you all in time for the 10:00 start. :thumb2

Greg

PS Still dunno if I'll be with you!

In light of another reported outbreak of Foot and Mouth and the temporary control zone near Dorking, please refer to this thread on Saturday evening as to whether the trail ride is on or not. :(

Hopefully see you all on Sunday ready for the start at 10:00 :thumb

Here is the info copied from the DEFRA website:

Access to land

We have learnt the lessons of the experience of the 2001 outbreak and would not close down the countryside if it is not justified by the disease risk. Current veterinary advice is that outside a protection zone, the risk of rights of way users and other visitors to the countryside spreading disease is low. Access to the countryside and in particular to footpaths, may be restricted but only within the Protection Zones (PZ) (areas of minimum 3km around an infected premises) if it is felt too risky to keep them open. Footpaths on the infected premises are closed.

There is a clear principle that there should be a presumption in favour of maintaining public access. Thus, any decision to close land over which there is a public right of way, or where there is public open space or a right of access to open country, would only be taken only when it is clearly necessary to do so.

In the event of a disease outbreak, inspectors may have the power to prohibit entry on to any land within designated areas and, in some cases, a specific power to close rights of way. In cases where the power is used to prohibit entry to designated areas, this power would, incidentally, enable the prohibition of entry on to any public right of way or land to which the public have a right of access situated within the designated areas

Sorry everyone I'm not coming now.
Had a geat ride out with Mudlover today and I'm reliably informed by the better half that I don't need to do any more dirty riding this weekend.
Have a great day everyone. Sorry I'm not able to join you all. :o

Dont get me wrong, I wear the trousers....... but she tells me what ones!

Have a great day....definately next time.

It's Nobwah. I'd need to be a far better rider to contemplate adopting a name like knobwad.
Still maybee one day...... with practice...?

Sorry guys won't be making it today. My daughters a day late returning from her holiday and arrives today instead of yesterday. Have fun and hopefully next time...

Another great ride, Roy!

I got fecking soaked during the short ride back to Newlands Corner but who was there to greet me? Only kevhdr3 who'd got his R1100GS running without AA assistance. :hammer I'm sure that he'll post up, but it appeared to be a wet connection under the seat somewhere.

My bike is now all clean and back with its road wheels on for my commute to work tomorrow. But still needs a new exhaust! :o

Greg
