Thought i would add another thread on these :-

Well i broke my eom heated grips messing around with handlebars etc and so needed a new set... put some oxfords on but couldnt get on with them as i didnt like the way the wires come out of them in a big blob of rubber.

So i got these from winding roads, Arrived the next day which was a brilliant service.

installed them quite quickly and hooked them up to the bmw grip controller rather than use the toggle switch, tried to get them to work but couldnt until today, didnt realise id blown the fuse.

Anyways ... good god they get hot... and fast! on high setting they get very hot within just 2 minutes!

Bad point - dont use these with renthal "medium" grips... the heat from the symtecs were too much for the renthal grips and they split clean open!!! :eek

Just need to get a new set of grips sorted, some slightly thicker ones that will cope with the heat a bit better. But can honestly say these are THE best heated grips i have ever had. I much prefer them over the OEM set.

Well the heated grips are all sorted.. problem was my fault.. i had installed a plastic tube underneath the clutch heater (which is hotter than the throttle side) which was insulating the heater too much. Alongside this it had increased the diameter of the bar so the renthal grip was really REALLY stretched over it and this was just too much for it.

Removed the plastic tube, and with some new "firm" renthal grips on.. must say they are the best heated grips i have had... far superior imoh than the oem ones. And at £40 a fraction of the cost. Best bit is being able to use your own grips ... im not a fan of oem ones as i just dont like their "feel" but each to their own and all that.

Thanks winding roads.... cant remember who you are on here... sorry.
