Took delivery of a new 2010 1200GS today. Where do I fix the tax disc holder? Bike arrived with tax disc stuck to windshield as per car and empty holder in tank bag. Suggestions please. Thanks M

Get one of those Oxford disc holders then put it under the left Boxer pot facing you. There is a torque screw there that you can loosen and put it behind. Nice and out of the way.

:blast How long till it's oil... Then tyres..?? :augie

By the way... Clutch is on left... Brake on right !!

Gears on left, rear brake on right !! :D

Ignore them pi55taking tossers,I've stuck mine nice and out of the way behind the number-plate. It gets covered in sh!t but I don't have to look at it.
Welcome to UKGSer.:)

Welcome to the wonderful world of UKGSer, MalcolmA, where the odd is normal, the idiotic quite reasonable and the truly bizarre, well, truly bizarre.

Assorted schools of thought on the tricky question of where to stick it.....

Me? On the rear of the nearside pot, innermost starry bolt thing.

Been as safe as a safe thing.

Can't take a picture, sorry.

I'd certainly be worrying more about the spec of my topup oil.

If you PM Tarka, he'll normally help you out on anything like that.

Welcome to the site :thumb2

Behind the nearside pot:thumb Some right miserable bastards on here - tell 'em to feck off!:dabone

Thanks chaps for input. No problems with my Harley & F800ST - fits on a front mudguard securing bolt

Three votes so far for the rear of the nearside pot. :clap

It could well be a landslide by morning at this rate.

Come on guys, give the chap some choices, please.

Sod it. Just realised he is a Taffy and rides a Highly Dangerous.... That explains everything.

I dont bother displaying. Since they introduced automatic fines for non-renewal I dont think the Police are the slightest bit interested. My tax disc is in the filing cabinet in the study....

It only gets covered in crap and disintegrates anyway !

Wouldn't fancy your chances in North Wales with the Traffic Taliban - any excuse to nick a biker :(

Considering they were reported to have said that speeding motorists are worse than murderers and rapists, not displaying a tax disk will mean a public flogging at the very least..............

Well my tax disc has been carried in the tank bag for as long as I can remember ... probably fifteen years or more

Never been stopped, never been a problem, never got wet and it never got stolen :thumb
