tell me about your 1190

I have fitted a DNA over the winter months. Cost £55 through Amazon, sent from Greece....

Fitting it was an adventure on its own. :toungincheek

Amanda's jacket just now after coming back from a mucky ride - jeez the bike throws up some shit!

Has anybody used one of those number plate deflector things, do they actually work?

The advantage to having a pillion to keep the rider clean.

I've also seen a few posts on forums about head bearings working loose. Mine have a tiny knock in them (only noticed it lowering it off a dyno ramp last week - rolling the bike backwards dabbing the front brake), I phoned the dealer today and they were more than helpful - 'yep bring it in ... we'll take a look straight away .. ' :thumb2

Funnily enough, mine were the same and I also noticed it bringing the bike of Hilltop's dyno at the weekend - it was almost imperceptible but there none the less. Anyway, sorted when I got home but will keep an eye on it...............

Steptoe has laid out how bwm's model development cycle works. What about KTM's? No company is perfect, but do KTM develop their bikes further than bwm before releasing them on an unsuspecting public? I would like to think so.

BMW spouted about testing the toilet over something like 500,000 miles or kilometres. The bike is released to a host of problems, some serious. KTM developed the 1190 (don't know how many miles) and it too has had several problems with the airbox probably being of most concern, especially to those riding in dustier climes than here. So to maybe give you an answer, I'd say if you want a bike that has next to no problems after development, buy Japanese.

Cheers. I've read about the airbox. Not brilliant, but it doesn't really rank alongside the bevel box, fpc, etc issues. The only problem-free bike I've had was a Yamaha. FWIW, both Hondas I had were ok but not perfect.
I'm in no rush, but I really do like KTM's new one.

love it! the only thing i can fault it with is the owners legs are a bit short, but im sure that can be sorted!!

Finally picked up my new steed on Friday and I'm absolutely thrilled with it.

It feels quick now so I dread to think what it's like when the 6500 rpm shift up restriction comes off at 600 miles...:thumb

I just need to get it run in before our run down to Monaco and back via the RDGA in June
