tell me about your 1190

It fixed itself - at about 625 miles, which is about 1,000km so my guess is it needs to have past a thousand km AND had the first service.

Driver stopped post accident, but when I asked if he had been drinking he seemed keen to leave, he gave details and said he would move his van out the way and wait for the Plod and then buggered off - the Plod got him a few miles up the road and he blew over, but they decided to take him to a Plod shop half the county away by which time he blew under the limit.

The video we had pretty much nailed him so he has admitted fault (during Police interview) and is being prosecuted for driving without due care, although I bet his insurer will still try and come up with some bullshit and try for a knock-for-knock because that s the sort of scuzzbags they all are - a few interesting months ahead of us now as I want to be reimbursed for all losses and not punted a cheque for half of the bikes value and left with a £1500 bike gear bill to find on top of the shortfall on bikes value.

Yeah, sorry about that. I'd deleted my purchase history on eBay :blast Anyway, I found my receipt (eventually).......

Here you go - LINKY

Are you one of these sad feckers that keeps all their receipts?? You're going to get on well with my missus - every drawer .. every bag .. every cupboard .. :D

..... And most of them get delivered to work ... :D

I have a little expanding file and everything is filed chronologically.

A place for everything and everything in it's place you know :rob

.......and if you believe that you'll believe anything!

I get all my stuff delivered to Amanda's work (really!) :(

scan them, tag them, file them on a computer.

from a very sad fecker :)

Picked up my Seat heat deflectors today from Leisure Trail and they charged me £3.40 for the pair :D

Had a look at how they fit and will have to take the tank off to fit them properly so not a five minute job - lucky I have not got round to fitting the DNA air filter yet so will do both at the same time.

Cut the front loop and you can fit them without taking the tank off. Lots of guys over on adventure rider doing it that way.

Thought about that but as I need to take the tank off in any event to get to the air filter - I will do a "proper" job for a change :D

...........and at £3.40 don't want to have to go out and buy a second set if it goes wrong :aidan

Had tank off today and so fitted the seat air deflector kit - once tank off it's a 2 minute job :)

Having the tank off means that you can properly secure the front of the deflector with a cable tie.

Looks like they were made for the bike :D

So I've had couple of instances of loosing a small amount of oil (more a gentle weep/mist) from the rear pot breather (the pipe that goes from the rocker cover into the airbox). Doing a 'Google' it doesn't seem a common issue but there are a few reports of the same on RC8 lumps

It's shown up during prolonged high speeds and both times was sorted, for a while, at dealer service by a clean up and reassemble.

This time I've done it myself; removing the elbow piece that goes into the breather pipe/rocker cover, meticulous cleaning of all surfaces and a reassemble with new O rings. I'm off soon to France so that should I hope show up if I still have an issue. I guess if it is still an issue a new elbow joint and or a bit of RTV will be the next course of action.

Seen a few people reporting these elbows cracking I assume you would have noticed a crack in it though. No reason for this to leak other than something not being flat, square or the wrong size.

That's interesting, I hadn't come across that when searching. There was nothing obvious when cleaning but as I wasn't looking for it may have missed a hairline crack.
