Bob will remember that trip with horrific clarity. He tried to do a U-turn on the road into the industrial estate having take one turn too early. Unfortunately the road was covered in black ice and down he went on the GSA.
Ah yes . . only half of the road had been salted. I must replace the bars one day as there is still a slight bend in them
.A couple of guys came to help me pick it up, we could hardly stand the road was so slippery
The 1150 GSA is a great, tall, top-heavy beast and when they start to go . . . I'm afraid its been on its side a few times, apart from the ice incident, always when coming to a halt on a rough or sloping surface. Its survived though
Hopefully I'll get out on the bikes more this year than I did last year. In 2007 I covered 21,300 miles on bikes, last year about 1,500 - pathetic
.Correction - I joined UKGS in November 2006, a year after buying the 100GS - so only eight years for me.
