Travelling down the motorway this morning and noticed the temp readout on my 2018 1200 Rallye TFT dash was constantly fluctuating between 79 and 90 degrees.... Anyone else got the same ?

Normal behaviour on every GS I have had :)

Which temp are you on about engine or air temp, if air set it to centigrade it won't fluctuate as much.

getting the same

I'm getting the same temp reading most of the time, between 78 to 90.Going in for its 1000 k service tomorrow.Hopefully have it fixed and I will report back.Dogmaboy

It’s normal, nothing to worry about.

Temperature of coolant rises, thermostat opens valve, water flows through radiator, temperature of coolant drops, thermostat closes valve, temperature of coolant rises again...... and on..... and on.... and ...... ad infinitum, thereby keeping engine within normal working range.

Agree with engineer

Had my 1000 k service today, and asked the technician about the temperature varying so much .He said that it is normal as Engineer said.I told him that my old gs 2016 model didn't vary much at all.He said the new Euro 4 is the reason .Not sure what to think? Cheers Dogma boy

Euro 4 excuse is a fib - all 1200 LCs have done the same (I'm on my third) - I suspect that other bikes vary too but they just heavily damp the measurement so you don't see it.
