The GS is crap

I rode home today, a few days after putting my GSA up for sale. I have owned a blade, R1, TLS, 595, big single trailies etc etc. IF I sold it, what the f*ck would I buy > The answer, after 20k miles or so on a GS1100, 1150 and GSA......... is ....... nothing. Been off road on them, touring, London, back lanes etc, and there is NOTHING that fits the bill. You'd need at least two bikes to fill the gap. probably a lot more. I can service it myself, it's comfortable etc etc. Bloody Germans.

I know what you mean. I picked up my 1150GS after its 36K service on Wednesday. (I had a loan 650CS for the day which I quite like and have ridden a few times now) When I got on the GS I couldn't stop grinning. It just felt so damn good. Big, solid, planted on the road and comfortable. I might have even described it as smooth. Bloody Germans.

I bought my 1150GS to use exclusively on pavement. I've since been persuaded (against my better judgement) to take it through the woods on two occasions. While it seems that the GS is far more capable off-road than I would have imagined, I still can't see why anyone would WANT to do that sort of riding on a 600 lb motorcycle.

Agreed, a real dirt bike is 250 lb, 250cc and one you can ride with it on top and still get up. IMHO
