Mine is behind a shield but if the glass was to be chipped could the glass be replaced?
It looks like it is screwed to the light within its own frame rather than being integral to the light body.

Has anyone replaced one? If so what was the cost?

The glass doesn't show as being available separately on the parts fiche.

Realoem list the cover as a separate part. Part no. 63128526010. It's listed as cover but it's not clear if this is just the plastic trim.

Yes thats one of the covers and Max has it at $23. You might be right but looking at the diagram it looks like a bezel and not the glass/plastic/lense whatever you want to call it. Looks to me like that is still attached to the main headlight.

From what I've seen, the plastic trim is replaceable, but not the actual headlight plastic, but surely it shouldn't be too difficult to get one cut to shape by someone that know what they're doing?:augie

If the headlight glass/plastic lense broke on mine I would have a go with some perspex before shelling out that sort of dosh

Hmmm, has anyone taken the bezel off?
Is the plastic lense bonded to the housing or is it removable? If it was I would agree that a cut to fit option would be better than an £800 bill, even if it ment getting one custom manufactured.

When I looked at the headlight I thought "at last, an easily replaceable plastic headlight lens" rather than an expensive sealed unit :thumb2

But alas no, as you say it's just a plastic trim so if it cracks it's big kahoonas :(

I really don't want to stick an ugly headlight guard on but I bet those LED units are not far short of £1000  FFS

But even if it's bonded it could be removed and a reverse engineered replacement fitted. Even if it cost £500 to do it would still be well worth it.

I have removed the glass well its really plastic on BMW car headlights to replace the adjusters before and all that is required is some heat to soften the glue and they come apart easy the bike headlights might be make the same way

A pic of mine removed for you:

the plastic lens cover is not bonded to the unit and could easily be removed by tweaking the tabs
HOWEVER, because of the fact that nobody is sure that the cover is available OR NOT as part of the surround, I am not willing to test removal:D

The headlight glass is not removable but on a good note the full headlight is held in with 2 screws one at each side some plugs and cables plus some of the same type circlips that hold the clocks so replacements should be available on eBay soon enough :blast

I deliberately didn't buy a TE model as I didn't want to pay a premium for a headlight I rarely use and which would cost a fortune to replace. £5 for a replacement H7 bulb seemed like much better value :P
