Yep - I read that today too - looks great - and the wait is killing me :eek::eek:
Honestly can't remember looking forward to a new bike this much in a long time ;)

I have some SW Motech racks waiting in my garage so I can re-use the Aero ABS cases I already have in stock - not very adventure looking, but should do the job...
 
The 1290 engine is intoxicating in whatever form you get it in - looking forward to the write ups Arsey!
 
I had a good look at the new panniers at ExCel and thought them a massive improvement over the old bread bins.

I'll be sticking with my Andy Strapz bags though.

What rails/frame do you have to support the Expeds ?

I've got Bert Brigs jobbies on my 950SuperEnduro but he stopped making stuff years back.

Will still probably get Bumots though

The whole thing is Andy Strapz, bags and frames.

Only thing i can say against them is that after switching to a MY15 bike, the frame hit the passenger grab handle on one side where KTM lowered them. Solution, unless Andy Strapz have altered the frames, is to trim the handle, or buy a MY14 set which is what i did. They are surprisingly cheap from KTM.

The looks,the flimsiness,the plastic,the closing mechanism,the cost.

Apart from that I love it !

I've got the Expeds so the right hand would snag the exhaust . I'm going to go with the Bumots anyway.

I am getting the R and I agree,but they haven't tested the R yet !!

Having ridden both the 1190 and 1190R,I much preferred the latter,as did most of the mags.Dunno what it is but I've had bikes with the 21/18 wheels continually since my Adv 950S in 2004 and I love the handling and feel they give,even if the 1290S will no doubt be more planted on the limit than the R.
But it's not a limit I'll normally get close too anyway !!

Should get mine next week.

Well appears to be a common comment!!!!!! I love ktms, but that light aint doing anything for me......
