Paul I can confirm ...
Rod ( uglier than John) has a fantastic sense of humour and does most of the narration in the video, John ( George Cluney lookalike) is much drier.
I resemble that remark! ;-)

But alas in this case not true!
No one has access to passwords other than the users themself as they are encrypted.Moderators' have in the past provided me passwords to access my account- connected to Florence's business....
Meanwhile 12000 miles away on a small windswept motorcycling nirvana who has purchased a item from Florence and emailed him numerous times have nothing but positive contacts. Thank you Florence. Geez you guys really do nail that comment we make down here. Whing..... Po.......move on people.

The truth has nothing to do with it. Just a load of old farts strutting around trying to have a lynching...hunt for the guilty and punishment of the innocents and all that. Mods strutting around trying to look important and obviously punishing florence because Duncan bought the breakfasts at the East mids meeting, Florence didn't stand a chance...corruption at the highest level and a major abuse of position. Its shameful!! Boo!!![]()

Not big or clever

An interesting, if not intriguing read.
May i add that what has alleged to have happened here is not strictly limited to this domain
Fo those who may remember in January i purchased my R1200gs via Ebay.
At the time prices, were supposedly at the seasonal low, and would be set to reocket with spring around the corner.
Yes i could attest to that, as back in Aug / sept last year, a clean low milage early GS was starting at around 4K
rising to an average of 5.5K for a mid - high milage later model (farkles wernt included as such)
The bike was advertised from a dealer, but not as dealer stock but a trade part exchange.
A known fault exsisted, which was declared, and a blanket statement of there may be other faults not seen.
The buyer was to satisfy himself
I went and looked at the bike, the known fault was declared, and that was it. no other faults were declared by the
seller. however 2 reason's were given as to it's sale reason. Both conflicting lol.
I had identified one potential fault. when i looked at the bike, but couldnt confirm it, not having a reference unit to
draw on.
One of the other faults became evident on the ride home, but i wasnt green, and hoped it was just due to wear and tear
2nd day in, and the battery failed to start the bike.
I put it down to wear and tear / consumable and purchased another battery.
2 days later that failed to start the bike. and so started a round of replacing /
bypassing systems to eliminate the fault.
Eventually it became evident that the starter motor was defective - this was duly replaced.
Once i had contacted the previous owner, the full scale of the faults was revealed .
The declared fault, (fine i knew about that )
A 2nd / new fault & reason for rejection of the bike ( i a had an inkling of it, but it was now confirmed)
And the 3rd fault i'd just found.
I was a bit irked that the faults were known, and not declared by the dealer, using the buyer to satisfy themselves
clause before purchase.
Now i could have haggled over the faults and got a reduction, hindsight being a wonderful thingbut the dealer
wouldnt play ball of any sort
I'm surmising that the dealer still maintained a profit on the bike even though it had issues
Would i buy new or used from them again in short . No!
Ive bought and sold cars and bikes for some time as private sales using various platforms, one of the things i always
make sure of, is I sell the item with no hidden history.
I'd rather be honest up front and loose a sale than knowingly sell somthing that may not be the full 100% then have
people comming back claiming i was trying to diddle them.
Clearly though some people ( And i'm not referring to the the people in this thread ) have differing views on what they declare during
a sale, and can do this as a daily practice. without batting an eyelid (if thats how they operate, then thats up to them).
Sometimes though you get the polar opposite, the over egged / gilded lily approach.
bike / car owned by an enthusiast, thousands spent on it, recipits for every last nut and bolt hence its twice the list
price for the same mainstream model.
6k of additional farkles dosent make the bike/ car 6K more expensive. it was your choice to add those bits.
Often the purchaser only want's the correct oem level car / bike. The farkles mean nothing.
A full service history shouldn't mean the car / bike is more expensive . its what you should get as standard.
The strange part is that when you tell the enthusiast your not interested in the 32 layers of unobtanium treatment
to stop the output clampton from spinning, they get the right royal hump, and almost dont want to sell you the item.
As though your not worthy of the item
Peoples percptions on how they see or use things will always differ from what others expect.
From my perspective if iv'e described an item fully and honestly then i have no issues selling it
I was offered the equivalent price of what i payed for the bike a few weeks ago, however i declined the offer, as all
that would do is send the problem on again and give a middleman a nice profit.
Pehaps what we ought to do is be more honest with ourselves and others.
it would certainly make buyers and sellers think
as clear as mud - I have no idea what you are talking about or it's relevance to this thread

Utter rubbish. Anyone trading on a site such as this should expect a certain amount of less favourable feedback along with the glowing reviews from those who are satisfied customers. But in Duncans case there is clearly money outstanding. He (Duncan) may have ended up with a duffer of a bike which is going to cost him more than anticipated to get sorted but he is still owed money and parts by Florence which have not materialised. And, apparently, Florence has now sold the cafe racer on.
(Psst! it was supposed to be utter bollocks...I had no idea if Duncan bought the breakfasts or not)
