He was quite cross when I asked where he got it from. I thought it looked like a Givi but he said it was an ebay/aliexpress one for £70. My reaction I think triggered him...
He said it was the 2nd time this has happened too, imagine it comes off on the motorway!

I seem to have acquired 2 of them if anyone wants one or two even cheaper? one did fall off, but it was actually more user error than anything else

Now that’s a scary thought, a top box bouncing towards you at 70mph but, I don’t see how they can just fall off no matter where their made, it’s just a plastic box bolted to a bracket, either the bolts / brackets snap or a bad bounce rips the bottom out of it or, it’s fitted incorrectly and if it’s happened twice to the same bloke can’t see the manufacturer being at fault

It’s a bit fiddly but easy enough, I found a few YouTube videos which came in useful for locating which and where the screws are for removing the switches, took me around 30 min

Careful what you get off there

In fairness, it's not just Temu shite that goes walkabout. A well known Irish Tosser from here had his genuine BMW top box fall off in far eastern Turkey quite a few years ago. With a brand new notebook computer inside. Neither was ever seen again.

I have taken the button thingy of the handlebar once but how do you pop the butons out of it?

Once you have split the switch, the buttons just click out, push from the outside in
