as so few people are apparently wanting to post here.

Some may be concerned that having not posted in a while they would be targeted as the culprits repsonsible for the removal of Ronno & Oonyack (RonJon). That may be aimed at me, feel free, and do your best as I've been insulted by experts for years.

There is no doubt that the dynamic duo contributed an enormous amount to this site, (maybe 90% nonsense:augie), and did a lot of good but they weren't the only people here, plenty of others have been regular contriibutors.

The SS needs to find a way forward from the regretable events of the last week. RonJon can both read perfectly well and I'm sure that if the situation suits them they will appear at rideouts and meetings. Lots of people have alternative ways of contacting the guys.

Folk who perhaps were put off going to SS organised events as they felt that they'd not be welcome should rethink their position. Most people who have met RonJon would happily consider them as friends and they're characters in meatspace in my opnion are far preferable to their web persona's after the odd bottle or two of :jager. I can only go on my experience but whilst being unsure of what to expect at the first event I was certainly made welcome.

So lets try and move forward.

Anybody interested in the history of aviation? How about a meet here:- http://www.nms.ac.uk/our_museums/museum_of_flight.aspx

A couple of hours to wander about followed by a run through the east borders area with a bit of lunch en route. Someone suggest a date?

Garfield among others stays near there and could maybe recommend a nosh stop and route as it's not a part of the world that I know well.

I think you've just hit the nail on the head there Kevan, i think people that used to post here, but maybe fell foul of R or J, maybe have been twisting the knife behind their backs, wouldn't be surprised if they even have BLT on speed dial, so they can tell on others just that little bit quicker. i've no doubt they'll come sneaking back in protesting innocence and trying to ingratiate themselves to the SS massive :tosser
For me the hearts gone out of it and it's just getting so bland, had a look in the pub earlier and it's hard trying to see an interesting thread , or one that some irritating /boring cnuts posting incessantly on.

Anyhoo, good idea for a run :thumb2, plane's aint my thing so i'll give this one a miss, have fun

aye Andy it does feel as if the hert has gone oot o this wee corner of the forum .RonJon between them aye seemed to have some thread or other started that lead onto other off topic areas n more threads. There,s nae doubt in my mind that it wid be an affy hard act to follow,(me personally i just am no that sharp)however i really enjoyed efter a days work dipping into this we alternative universe.Personally i think its a disgrace that the lads were evicted in that manner a bit o modding or a short suspension wid hae been mair like it... anybody that didna like it in here could have KEPT OOT
n no run tae the heidy right .
i am digressing:augie
The other thing that occurs tae me is that its now at the fag end o a rough winter n a lot o folks are at their lowest ebb around now, n just havnt got the same spirit aboot them the noo (probably needing to get oot on the paraffin poney instead o posting pish):beerjug:

Agree entirly I felt like fish out of water and completely unsure of what to expect when i went to my first 'meet' but I could not have met a more friendly bunch of guys who made me must welcome. My only regret is that I cannot get to more of them:mad:

Hopefully things may change for the better this year.

There is no doubt that RonJon have contributed greatly to this section in providing debate and points of view, combined with great runs and overnight :jager:beerjug::beer:sessions and these take time to organise and arrange and credit must be given for their time and effort.

I do not wish to offend Garfield or others but this section is a poorer place without them, if there are others on this forum who are intimidated or offended by the threads that appear in the SS then what does it say about them?

I hope that their return is imminent

As for a visit to the museum yes please dates best for would be 10-11/04:bounce1

couldn't agree more good sir!!:thumb:thumb

I always used to really enjoy RonJons banter and this section is clearly missing them. Both of them were always busy organising something and looking for nothing, they will be sadly missed but not by me as I am having a major sesh with them this weekend in a secret bunker:augie

That secret I can't remember where it is:P

... Alright so I'm a fuckin' sassenach.

... FWIW the best GSer events I've attended have been the three GOTCs I've been too. You lot might look horrible with your sun-starved complexions and haggis-groping pecadillos, but your hospitality is legendary. Much of that has been down to the fact that Ron and Jon both made me feel totally welcome and part of the clan.

... I'm only sad I could never make the Skye Parties and that I won't get to Ullapool this year. But with or without UKGSer I look forward to their (and your) company again. You've got loads of heart, so stop the bloody moaning you're beginning to sound like the English!

it's a fair point Kev, an I think the SS will find a new equalibrium it'll just take time, remember there was a thread about the Battle field runs dates where established just turn up

meant tae add the Museum idea is a good yin, but for me I'd be better going with the family as ma boys are still young and they'd enjoy it

I think that's right.....:beerjug:

what it comes down to, is there a massive 'summer' ahead of us, there's absolutely no reason why we can't be out riding bikes and bumping into each other for coffee/lunch along the way, I'm sure R&J will find out where it is too....:D ......at the end of the day, the SS is only as good as the people who post in it and we can't continue to be entertained by a couple of people, you get out what you put in.....:beerjug:

I wish I could make that date you mentioned Kev....:(

I was thinking about going for a spin on Good Friday is there's other workshy people like me on the loose.....:augie

A lot of thin skinned people out there then, Kevan?
Museum of Flight is brilliant! We could of course all just turn up at Garfields hoose and have some refreshments, and then head off home.:pullface

For Garfield, so I don't have to post in another thread...
Good Friday - workshy! I could easily get offended - well probably not... seeing as I'm at the physioterrorists:tears at 10.30 am, I'm not sure that I can be down there with you.:(
I do hope to make some battlefield site visits;)
