Things that make you smile..

seeing the buds bursting on the trees, thinking of warm summer days ahead,BBQs/cold beers, twistys with dollops of sunshine & grippy tarmac, relishing the fact that your visor/screen is covered in flies, looking at your kids realising they have matured into well rounded adults & all the wrinkles and hair loss were worth it...:rob:D

Watching my dog chasing rabbits in her sleep.

Sitting outside the pub at Trebarwith Strand in the sunshine watching the waves with the condensation running down the side of my nearly-full pint glass and knowing I don't have to go home for nearly a week.

The word 'flump' :)

Mrs Og here

Maybe this will be the shortest thread in history, but let's try:

Me: Anything to do with Flann O'Brien.

Did you know that he wrote the first ever Irish rules of the road.

Which explains a lot really :augie

Going into a corner (in your mind too fast) but getting round fine. Then believing you are Rossi but realizing you bike is more capable than you.:JB

The ridiculous and obscure :pullface

Hilarious, but I was kind of expecting Catherine Lynch as her Creamer character to do the ' Hey baby let the freebirds fly' bit in the chorus from the back of the cave.

The sunlight slanting through the first pint of the evening after a good day's work.

The 'pop' of a cork before supper with friends.

The silence of the house before I head out on the bike for an early morning ride.

Pulling on my helmet as I leave home early on a work-day and thinking "bet I could make Winchester for breakfast and still be at my desk at 9."

Bach.

The Kyrie from Byrd's IV-Part Mass.

The Et Incarnatus Est from Mozart's C Minor Mass. THE most beautiful piece of music he ever wrote.

Working on a piece of copy for hours then finally clicking the keys to slide the phrase I wanted all along into place.

The smell of a field in the early morning as you push your way out of your tent.

A client saying, "you really can write, can't you?"

Standing on the runway of a disused WWII airfield and hearing 'planes in my mind.

Waking up in the morning and seeing Pip next to me.

My fat, stupid ginger cat sitting on my lap.

Sooo many things. Far more in life nowadays makes me smile than frown. And it's the little things that make it.
