Guys, I tried some Hein Gericke `intensive exhaust cleaner` today and it was awesome.

My 2010 pipes were horrible and only after 7000 miles they looked `brown` and `muddy` - the worst I`ve ever seen pipes to be honest.

So anyway, I tried some of this stuff, you spray it on then jet wash it off - amazing - the pipes look better than when I bought the bike.

I wish I would have done a before and after so you could see but believe me they were `brown` and horrible.

Anyway, huge thumbs up for this gear - I was that impressed I wanted to share it with you all, especially the fellow tossers with `brown` pipes :clap

Regards,

Mark

Looks to be similar to Wonder Wheels (caustic) - works well doesn't it :)

Just be careful where it goes and don't leave it on tooooooo long :thumb2

Marc - can't find it on their site, could you put a pic of the container up? Ta

I've got some of that but haven't used it yet. Did you spray it on, or brush it on? It says not to get any on the rest of the bike.

Stainless pipes guys. Honestly I wish i would have photo`d before and after - they were `brown` I tell you :rob

yeah - you have got to be mega careful with this stuff, it is supposed to spary on but I was too worried about it eating into stuff so i painted it on.

I would strongly suggest that any fellow tosser does the same but it sounds like there is other similar stuff out there on the market!

Wii photo it and post it shortly.....................

If you can remove the mucky stainless item, then OVEN PRIDE cleaner works brilliantly.

Mark. Maybe if you made your "Engine crud protector" 3ft wide, then it would also protect the rest of the downpipes :jes

Hein Gericke Optiglanz cleaner

Are you referring to "Optiglanz" stainless steel cleaner sold by Hein Gericke?

Be very careful with it, it will destroy the paintwork on your engine if accidentally sprayed on it.

I presume "Intensive exhaust cleaner" is just a new name for an old product to make it sell better.

Also, it is NOT for use of Chromium plated items so if you have the premium package with the chrome exhaust headers, you can't use it on them.

I used it on my old bikes stainless steel headers and it worked well, trouble is they soon turn brown again. Can't use it on my current bike with chrome plated headers.

Great post Hoots! :thumb2

Giving the GSA its Winter scrub down and ACF50 tomorrow, might go and see if my HG local shop has it.

Thanks for the info Hoots. I just tried it on my headers.:thumb
I simply brushed it on, waited a couple of minutes and hosed off.
Fantastic stuff.

Hey Mark - so two months on what colour are your headers - shiny like new or are they back to brown ? Keen to give this stuff a go but not if you have to reapply it every 5 minutes :D
