Well I will then, Had my Te 3 weeks, on my third tank of fuel my bike is 11 months old so it just came with it.
I thought long and hard about it and all the possible problems associated with it and to be honest to date I have had no problems. I hang the fob round my neck on a lanyard under my jacket.
The petrol station thing regarding someone jumping on it and riding away is a possible concern, but I have "tested" the range that the bike "loses" the fob and wont start and it is only a six foot or so (2 metres for the young dudes reading this) so I wont fill up at a small petrol station HaHa. or just pay at pump. Yes I know it can break and the bike wont start, what if your battery goes flat, have you tried bump starting a bike that has no kickstart!!? (that's like a long fold away gear lever for the young dudes reading this)
its like most things in life that we embrace, in time It proves to be good and a benefit and its hard to think how we done without them, Mobiles, Microwaves, Wifi, oyster cards, paypal, the list goes on, how frustrating is it when they don't work.
Modern bikes are just full of teccie items and that's the way it is. injectors are better than carbs but you can take carbs to bits to clean them. a good old fashioned ignition switch can be overridden to get you going but also a low life can do that and steal your bike.
I am still on the fence with it but it is novel and new, along with the gear shift assist and the styling of the bike,to which a lot of non biking people describe as "stealth" like.
Technology comes, and goes if not so time will tell!!. those of us old enough will remember the uproar when the Cortina ceased production to make way for the new sierra and its hi tech electric gizmos! when was the last time you saw a sierra on the road, ( its an old ford car for the young dudes reading this) I am rambling now and quit to allow the piss taking to commence
Kind regards Nikonnigel aka nigel
 off to the rugby on sunday so I will be neutral

Thanks, that saved me 10 minutes!:D

How do you pay for fuel when you are wearing gloves??

Easily. My gloves don't stop me finding my wallet an entering my PIN number,
Tricky to sign a cheque in my gloves. But I've embraced new tech so use a card with a pin. I would pay with contactless. But an adventure tank breaks the limit.

So who has a chip an pin card an won't have keyless?

:rob I had a bike built in the 50's that had the worlds first anti theft device. It was a BSA B31 350cc single with manual advance and retard for the ignition. set it to fully advanced and any oik that tried to start it was either ejected over the handlebars or suffered a broken ankle.

what makes you say that then?,do you know how the system works and at what range the proximity sensor is set?

Do a search on here and there are plenty examples of issues people have had regarding the 'proximity'. Doesnt seem to be anywhere near exact. I certainly wouldnt want to risk it. I take it you dont fill up often in liverpool or glasgow for example?

If you can do all that with gloves you can probably take a key out of the ignition and open the fuel tank too?

Having said that, I have keyless on my car and it is convenient. I'd imagine the tech is very reliable now, so it's just progress, like having a fuel gauge or abs.

Op, the quickshifter isn't meant for slow use, it's for full power acceleration. Get the thought out your head it's for bimbling and you will start to enjoy it more.

Plenty? I've read one. Let's have some links to these many cases.:rob

My TB had keyless, the bike had it fitted not an option I would possibly have picked but its no problem or drama, I have a double garage, bike at one side workbench at the other side say 10ft away? If keys are on the bench bike wont start. Only concern i do have is you must remember to put steering lock on, bit of a faff but you get used to it.

One's enuff. After weeks of deciding i told my dealer I'd be having the quickshift but not bothering with the keyless, his answer was, "I dont blame u".

Titto, you are 100% correct . Thank you ....( I think there is a problem that the dealers don't know much or have a lot of experience and they could be explaining stuff better)

But you said "plenty of examples"

Just because you don't want it, others do, and look at forums for impartial advice. Muddying the water with myths doesn't help.:rob

Why do you have to put the steering lock on?

I can be safe in the knowledge of knowing that I'll never venture into Liverpool!:D
