I've tried setting these before, but winding the screws in or out did not make much difference.
Yesterday after deciding to see what the 1150 sounded like without a silencer................ my first thought was why bother with one, if the cat. mutes it so that it is only marginally louder without the silencer. A bit louder on the overun.
However, as I was fiddling, I removed the big brass screws, ugh!
There was a coating of what I can only describe as a thin black grease like substance. Wiped this off, quick blast of brake cleaner down the threads where the screws go. Now the screws actually do alter the idle speed.
This in effect must have been blocking the air passage?
So what I'm saying is remove the screws & clean them & the air passage before adjustig th screws.

Pehaps the valve clearances are adrift. I might blast some cleaner into the nipples
