Throttle Cables .... would you?

76,000km now, I get a slight pull-asymmetry with the stock cables on some spots of rpms that the vacuum gauge confirms. Already bought a spare set, I'll put them on soon and see if I get a near-perfect synchronization over the RPMs.

I reckon it's the induced asymmetry in the TB sync they ought to be replaced after around every 50Kkm (according to the manual), IF you look for the best possible sync possible that is. If you're OK with slight vibrations then you're OK to go with the original cables that will probably work forever by just properly lubing and maintaining them.

Some interesting points ....... thanks to all who replied..:thumb2

Its just that having done a couple of TB balances now for myself and a couple of mates I have realised how sensitive any tiny movement of the cable can be to the throttle balance.

Its so well worth getting the vale adjustment/end float right and then if you get a good balance it makes riding the GS so much more of a pleasure!

I have now rode five GS`S including mine and the difference when set up spot on is remarkable. I`m sure that they slowly get out of balance and we just get used to them being that way.

Cheers ............... BB .............. :beerjug:
