Can some wise sage on this forum answer a question for me?

Do you lubricate throttle cables on a 1200GS twin cam? I have read somewhere not to lubricate but my Haynes says Yes!

Thanks in advance.

They are lined so no need to lube them

Iv had so many jap bikes, cars, vans & cycles with lined cables that seize up due to water ingress & corrosion,GT85 good cos its got teflon or I use chainlube very good on clutch cables makes them silky smooth,if your cables feel stiff lube them if their free & your happy dont.

Lubing the cables is a bad idea. The Teflon lining will cause them to get gummed up with dirt if you lube them and get very sticky!
