Thunderbirds Are Go!

Glen has checked into next location and is sitting on the hotel terrace drinking a beer in 20 degrees.

rub it in .... dry dense fog and 1.5 degrees on way home from school ...... Think i am in the wrong place

Tell sid find us a nice farm in the sun while hes down there ......:clap

Quite a day today to say the least .......

Yesterday, I broke off from the group early and rode to Barcelona to see my folks for a couple of hours and the on to Benidorm to meet up with 'em all......set a new personal record in the process; half a tank at 66 miles and fuel light on at 127 :D

Benidorm was shite and full of grannies but all the more wonderfully sureal for it :thumb

Busy day tomorrow.

What was planned as a gentle run down to our next destination and a bit of a rest day turned into yet another challenging ride, no snow cause it don't do that in this part of Spain, we got wind and rain.

Now being from Norn Iron wind and rain is something I'm familiar with but not winds like we experienced crossing the mountains, gale force does not describe them and they seemed to hit us from all directions with the bikes getting blown all over the place.

Then with about 100 miles to go the rain started, should not have been an issue with all the kit we had to handle the UK and French weather but Spain had lulled us into a false sense of security with its temperatures higher than freezing so we had started to ditch layers. :blast

Parked the bikes up and headed into a little tapas bar for a coffee and a warm up , (the staff did not look too pleased at the pools of water gathering on the wooden floors under our dripping gear) and to contact Sockpuppet to arrange to meet, sent him the details by text, 5 minutes later he phones me with the news he's had an off and thinks he's broken his leg.

Flexibility was always a part of this trip, we'll need that today to see what needs to be done to get Richard and his bike back home.

Just have to say what a fantastic bunch of guys I'm fortunate to be with on this journey, everyone got involved with Operation Sockpuppet last night and poor old Andres with his superior Spanish ended up spending about 6 hours at the hospital being watched by a couple of female security guards while he waited for news.

Going to be another busy day.

Apparently it's salsa night in the hotel. Not sure how suitable kilts are for salsa-ing in...the photo opportunities are mind boggling.:augie

Maybe the word is actually Big-doozy-fanny.

Good on ya guys.

Och a coupla drams Richard and ye'd be tripping the light fandango yirsel.

I see the lads are slumming it again:Motomartin:ChrisKelly

Looks like it maybe a nice place to be as they are still there:augie

Certainly is :thumb2

Yeah, proper cheesey dancing last night but was really rather fun to watch (too scared to join in..............).

Today was a day off, Thunder, Paintman and myself all had electrical gremlins due to salt, water, corrosion so bike fettling was the order of the morning. Then most of the boys went over to a big rock thing in the sea and Paintman and I went for a blat on the mountain roads around Ronda and top roads they were :thumb2

Tyres are being changed tomorrow and then phase 2 of the journey commences :bounce1

It`s been great, after all the shit weather to finally ride on warm(ish), dry roads so long may that continue.

I´ve the slowest interweb connection ever at the moment and spent my last trillion Euros trying to download a random selection of piccies off my phone, not sure if I even got the ones I wanted or if they are correctly sized but they may, or may not :nenau give a partial flavour of things so far..........

ta ta for now
