Tobers Highland Fling

Brilliant photies, Its either a great camera, or Im doing something wrong with mine. Seems like you had a good time.

Glad you enjoyed your time in God's Own Country.

I note the extortionate price quoted for some moulded earphones........

One set of Sony Phontopias from Amazon...£30. One set of custom moulded earplugs, courtesy of Cool Carbon to take aforementioned Sony Phontopias....£40.

Total...£70. Much more like it......:)

nice photos & write-up Tobers, reminded me of a recent trip to SW Ireland.
Interesting to read you were let down by Vines, I posted a thread a while ago complaining about their new service manager being unhelpful and a general plonker but in his defense he is consistant!
Do a public service and speak to his boss about his attitude, it stinks.

Ta chaps.

The camera is a Sony DSC-P5 - quite old now - only 3.2 megapixels. Bloody good though and easy to use.

Darryl - I'm going to be in Duncan's office in Vines sometime this week to have a word about that. Interesting that you had the same experience. However, when I spoke to him re. the side stand a few days earlier he was extremely helpful, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt at the moment.

Nice report Tobers - glad you enjoyed it. I see you have sampled the excellent service given by Motorrad central in Glasgow. They really are a top bunch of guys who are so helpful. When they were fitting my Heated grips last week I was treated to umpteen coffees and fed Grapes and Blackberries...a nice touch!

A bit concering about your side stand and I'm going to check mine when I get home. You didn't mention "midges" once in you r posting which must be a first about a trip to the West Coast. The Run in to Ullapool is my favourite bit of road with nice long sweepers and excellent views.

Have Fun

AndyT:cool:

Hi Andy - yes they are top chaps up there aren't they.

John @ Motorrad Central was also pretty concerned about the sidestand. It'll be quite difficult for you to see the weld on the inside edge of the mount unless you get right under the bike. I'll keep everyone posted anyway.

We had v.few midges actually - I think the incessant rain kept them at bay!

Must have been fun, demounting without a side stand everytime..........bloody good job it wasn't an ADV or it'd have been over every time!

(well mine would have been for sure ;) )

Bill

Nice report BTW
