I have a standard 1150gs with a set of tobinators fitted but I would like to try an adventure screen with tobinators. I am confused as to what I need to buy to fit the adv screen and what if anything I can reuse. On checking nippy normans website the images are not clear enough to distinguish the individual parts fitted to the bike.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Cook1e,

Thanks for the link to that thread which I have already read but doesnt cover tobinators needs for changing from standard tobinators to adventure ones.

Not certain, but I think there's only one type of Tobinator. It's the screen brackets which are different.

EDIT: I thought wrong, you'll need the GSA tobinators and the GSA screen brackets.

I emailed Nippy Normans with my questions just to make sure as it can be expensive to get it wrong!

This setup is an adventure screen fitted to a standard GS, using turbinates.

The pictures are of the right side only shot from different angles to help you understand the parts you need. You will need to keep the original screen fittings as these will be needed.

Hope this helps.

Ok I’ve just been on nippy’s website. You will need an Adventure screen obviously and these additional parts.

The original screen fittings which will also need and which you should already have fitted are these. Item 2 together with the mounting screws 4.

That completes my series on fitting an Adventure screen to a GS using Torbinators.......:D

Hi Ian J Hartley,

Many thanks for the clear images and confirmation of parts needed. After reading your replies I have just bought a used adv screen from ebay that looks like it has all the parts I require plus an adv screen to try out for £100 posted. The nippy normans adv tobinators were £99 alone and I may have needed to buy the outer side plates on top as my standard ones look different to the adv ones.

Great write up.

Nippy Normans came back to me this evening confirming exactly what Ian J had advised.

Thanks to everyone for all your help.
