Tobinators, are they really that good??

Would someone like to post a picture showing the detail of successful settings for an Adventure screen. I had the 650CS loan bike today which was much less turbulent than my current settings

Well, I have indeed gone for Tobinators and I have to say they make a massive difference!!! I might eventually still want a bigger screen but I would still use them with a larger screen..the bike is now more than rideable and will be fine like this for a while!
Reason I did not want to go for the Tobinators is I have seen some bikes with them on where the screen is set so far back it looks ridiculous but in my case the standard (not too extreme) settings work just fine!
Picked mine up from Tobes, very nice chap, even fitted it for me while I dribbled over his new 1200 GS!

It looks like I've got a setting up job on my bike with the Mk4s that came with it.

I'll post a pic once I've got it sorted, you know next year!

1150GS tobinators - no longer required

I have an 1100GS, the good looking fast GS, obviously... and I purchased the standard Tobinators with an 1150 GS screen and then cut the screen so it wouldn't have the odd sized headlight arches... smooth air... even better than the MRA Vario screen with tobinators...

Thanks for inventing such a great but simple adjustment remedy...

Absolutely brilliant! Half an hour on the motorway and I had a head ache from thebuffeting (6'2''). Now it has all but gone - some wind noise but with ear plugs that is not a problem. Tremendous value at £50 or so given the way it has transformed the bike for me.

Improvement but............

Had mine for a year or so now on std GS screen, definite improvement over standard but after masses of "twiddling" cant get that sweet spot that so many seem to rave over.

At last I've found out (I think) why - saw a pic with screen right back and Tobinators & in lowest position - thought I'd give it a try, as I'd been using this setup but in the middle position for ages. Went for a blast - bloody dreadful BUT just thought I'd stand on the pegs so as to raise my height ever so slightly, only moved about an inch before everything went quiet!

Fantastic - so all I need now is an extra inch (I know, thats what the missus says ) & my Tobs will work. Now before anyone says move the seat to the higher setting, if I do that I cant reach the ground being a relative GS shorty @ 5'9" with 32" inseam.

Was wondering if de-lipping the screen would work as that should bring the airflow down lower - anyone about my height done this? Don't want to terminally alter the screen if I'm unlikely to gain.

Same height as you but 31" legs. I use the tobinators on the standard screen and use the seat in the high position (its more comfy and no probs when you get used to being on the balls of your feet). No buffeting now but lots of wind noise compared to my sports bike. I too suspect the lip may be causing turbulance and have thought about cutting it off. I'd be very interested in the results of such a mod.
