Not limited to the UK, I've just ordered a section of Andalucia, Spain.

Only work with Garmin Oregon/Dakota/Colorado series (or other GPS which can read rastor multi-layered maps)

Greg,

How do the standard recreation maps that garmin supply with the oregon series compare to the mapscart offerings?

Do the standard maps offer enough detail for trail riding??

The standard maps are OS 1:50k Landranger maps (top picture in first post). You can buy the Oregon 450 bundled with the whole of UK mapped at this level. The unit is routable, but only on-road. However byways etc are shown just as they are on paper maps.

Garmin also offer OS 1:25k maps of selected areas. Personally, I wouldn't have thought that they are much benefit for trail riding.

Non-UK maps (such as the Spanish mapset I have) are not routable but you can use tracklogs.
