Torque, swinging arm/bevel box

... for my R100RS, 1982, it doesn't say in my Haynes, unless it's the same as for the /7's...??

Getting a torque wrench on the nuts is going to be a problem, my 3/8" Britool doesn't have the range and my 1/2" Norbar does, but that has big lump of a ratchet head on it so I can't get it on the nuts. How is it done- a slimline torque wrench I suppose?

As for the drive shaft stretch bolts, it's going to be a case of a gas pipe on the spanner, a ruler and a 28lb weight, but that won't be possible with the swing arm/bev box due to the difficulty of getting at the sods.

10mm ring spanner and a lump hammer has always done for my stretch bolts Cycleworks in the states make a tool for doing it properly if you'd prefer a more scientific approach http://www.cycleworks.net/index.php...id=327&zenid=0532b0d25dd9072babfbd92183057e8f

My bevel box gets the ring spanner and lump hammer treatment as well. Motorworks sell a special tool but is £31

Dan from cycleworks is a really decent bloke he's also very good to deal with. I have quite a few of his tools, they work very well.

I have no reason to doubt it. I don't think that it's actually made from chocolate you know.

a somewhat shittier version can be made with an old 10mm ring spanner, a socket and a welder.

...or you can just do them up by feel.
