Has anyone here taken the cover off their TPS?.
This means removing it and actually being able to refit it without butchery.
I believe there are 2 resistor tracks inside it which vary the voltage that controls the fueling, according to the opening of the butterfly in the TB.
I am wondering if dirt, dust or carbon debris is getting on the resistor tracks causing small voltage variations to be sent to the ECU thereby causing fuelling problems (surging, misfiring possibly).
If these tracks could be cleaned with a contact cleaner or something similar,it may give a more reliable reading.

We thought about trying this last year when Jinxy's 1150 had a TPS failure in Morocco.
In the end we decided not to risk making matters worse as at least the bike was running.
I now carry a spare on such trips.
