Tracer 9 GT Plus

After making a mess of my left shoulder a year ago, my GS was just too heavy to push around, it had to go.
I now have a shiney ex-demo T9+ in Icon Blue. I waited till the end of the season to get a good deal (£12,600)
Apart from some 'keep the crap off' bits I am going to paint the exhaust black. I was thinking of trying some of this paint,
Anyone else painted theirs? or any ideas as why I should/not do this.

Just use Wurth Hi Temp satin black exhaust paint
It’s the best there is, from a can and gives a lovely durable finish along the same as RD350LC exhaust came from the factory with in 1981
Best exhaust paint I have ever used and still looks the same after 5 years of usage
Get it from Yambits in Yorkshire

Thanks, I will look that up.

This is it
Best there is for exhausts

Have you thought about Cerakote? I am picking my Tracer 9 GT+ next week and I am thinking about using this, not sure if they have a spray on or if you have to send the exhaust to them.

Cerakote is a specalist treatment, you have to send the exhaust to a registered company. I contacted them, the cost is £180.00 + VAT.
Certainly worth considering.

Well, I’m picking up my new GT+ today and there is a yellow weather warning, gales and heavy rain, perfect!

Apart from my 1hr demo ride and a 20min ride home my T9+ has languished in the garage instead of gathering salt.
I am now busy bolting on stuff to protect the bike.

Well I had to get it wet at some time and with all the rain we are having, I hope it’s washed any salt off the roads! One thing that impressed me on my ride home was how planted it felt in really bad conditions, I thought as it was smaller and lighter than my S10, it would have felt a bit flighty especially as it is so responsive, but it was like a rock on the roads. By the way, one of the freebies from Yamaha was a heated Comfort seat, I have never tried a heated seat before but it was lovely! Looking forward to getting some miles under its tyres now!

I have got
Ta. How do they attach ?
They stick on with double sided pads. It's like everything else, preperation. Follow the instructions and they stick like the proverbial. I ran a bead of silicone along the join on the dirty side to prevent muck getting in there.
I did the same on the rear as well, I took them both off to do it properly.
There are some plastic rivet thingys as an alternative, I much prefere the sticky pads.

You have to be careful, not all silicones are the same, most don't stick to plastics. If it was that easy Pyramid would enclose a tube of silicone. They know what sticks the plastic they use.
