I've got this one. Seems OK, I do need to remember to put the fob near the bike when pushing it around though otherwise it sends a text, and they're not unlimited. The Datatool Stealth S5 has been muted !
Like others I have had problems with false alarms and battery drain on the Datatool stealth that was fitted to my 2020 1250GS by BMW to the point that I cancelled the subscription after the 1st free year and disconnected it. The scroats know where it is located too as they're all fitted in the same place because it plugs into the existing wiring loom, so if someone is looking to have a tracker fitted I would recommend they get something else instead.I've got this one. Unfortunately most of the companies I have spoken to insist on a Thatcham approved tracker system, Datatool is top of their listLike others I have had problems with false alarms and battery drain on the Datatool stealth that was fitted to my 2020 1250GS by BMW to the point that I cancelled the subscription after the 1st free year and disconnected it. You get an allowance of text alertsI’m experiencing an issue with my Datatool S5 fitted by dealer from new.
Unit is 2 1/2 yrs old. It tracks my rides ok and the app will show where it is , battery voltage etc but it no longer sends messages for movement detection. I’d normally receive a text if I disturb the bike in the garage or move it out onto the drive without the fob. I’ve a feeling that it’s the internal battery has given up. Contacted Datatool and waiting on response.
Last texts I had were in June the day the bike was in the dealers for service
.
That’s what I originally thought, I’ve checked and it seems I have loads left, last alert I had said 22 left think you get 25 a month. You get an allowance of text alerts
Can't remember how many
I have used 2, both times wheeling the bike into my garage
Maybe check how many text alerts you've had
Give them a call, when my stealth starting playing up giving false alarms, normally in the early hours the chap in the monitoring centre programmed mine so it wouldn't trigger their system until it was 50m from my address, so it might just be a programming issue or maybe put into maintenence mode of some sort when at the dealers?I’m experiencing an issue with my Datatool S5 fitted by dealer from new.

I priced mine at £19999 despite it costing £20k plus a few grand. As when I left the dealer, it devalued by at least £3k, probably £5k or moreWhen I bought my 1300 the insurance company told me that the underwriter for my old 1250 wouldn't insure any bike over £20k without a tracker
Perhaps in your own case, you may benefit from living in a post code that is considered 'benign' (or similar categorisation) by insurers?I have a 1300GSA and have just run some quotes with and without a Tracker fitted - no difference in price whatsoever.
