Has anyone tried replacing the standard BUMW calipers on an evo ABS 03 1150GS. Caliper type 2125.

Every winter I have to remove the front calipers to free up the pistons and make my brakes work properly again.

Has anyone tried alternatives with any success.

After 6 winters the bike is starting to corrode like a rotten thing so when this years tax expires I'm thinking about sorning it and treating it to a strip and refurbishment. That would be a good time to fit alternative brakes and I may even pursue the weight reduction program a bit further by dumping the servo ABS system.

Any ideas?

mines a non servo and have the 2025 calipers, just a service and some red rubber grease around the seals keeps them working fine :thumb2

have a set of pads for the 2124 calipers and a set of front discs 320mm diameter if anyone needs them :augie

mines got stainless pistons, never sieze, like normal ones
