Triumph Tiger Sport 800

I know someone who had the Tiger 660 thinking it would fit the bill as he's now over 70 and a short arse, but he's traded it in now for a Tiger 900 as he found it hard work keeping up with others while touring. He loves the 900, but he's a Trumpet fanboy 🤣
The 660 does go well but you have to give it some beans.
I’ve got one, but when first had it it felt sluggish. When I started giving some, it did pull well and easily would keep up with most other bikes, and is easy to control.

I bought a 660 and specked the full package, panniers, top box, heated grips, bluetooth module, quick shifter, TPMS, took it back after a week had the heated grips removed along with the bluetooth module and the TPMS as all were useless and got a full refund, the bike was ok and was plenty lively enough, and handled well and I loved the sound,
I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 800 as it may be an upgrade of my 750 transalp as its some 22bhp more but only 4kg heavier so that should go a bit better !!

He's a Trumpet fanboy and has had a number of them inc a Thunderbird LT, a 1200 Thruxton and a 1200 Speed Twin so is used to the torque and flexibility of a twin which I guess has clearly spoilt him 🤣

Any more news on these ? release date when demo's will be in dealers ? very eager to try one as could be a decent replacement for my 750 Transalp as its done 600 miles now so getting old for me !!

It looks like a nice bike. More power? Maybe. Depends on usable mid range. On paper it looks like they missed a trick by not offering something over the Yamaha triple. Basically reinvented the wheel, also the MV Turismo Veloce has been out how long now and the Triumph adds nothing.

VFM is still with the Honda hornet.

Yamaha seem to be pushing more and more equipment and gadgets onto the Tracer, with a corresponding increase in price. This Triumph looks a bit like the original, cheap and (very) cheerful spec of the Tracer. I like simple. Having owned both a basic Tracer and a Tiger 800 this new offering seems to capture the best of both.

O my god Please do not Phone Lings in Dunmow for any information or part exchange price on the Tigersport 800
no idea when its coming
no idea when they are getting a demo bike
no idea the cost of the panniers
no idea of the cost of the top box
no idea of a price of any of the accessories
no Idea if it comes with Cntr stand as standard
gave him all the details of my 5 month old 600 mile Transalp with every Honda pack plus plus, invoice price that I paid £12,255.00 plus 3 Pce Metal luggage, Yoshimura End Can, screen adjusters, Honda touring Screen, Alarm, Etc etc, he had to go and check, which I can understand as its got everything he phoned me the next day as happy as Larry as if he had just done me a solid with a part exchange price of £5k LOL I bet he really wished he did not really say that now,
I shoved fucks into him for the next 5 minutes
£5k for a bike that cost with the bits over £13k, £8 grand loss in 600 miles, I told him I could have run a fucking Maybach for less !! Fuck me ive lost some money on bikes before but I nearly shit a cat when he said that!! I had to check he had the correct bike,

why put a bendy little twat who dont even shave yet in charge of selling your product, that they know absolutely fuck all about, I thought I was getting the shaft when Dobles offered me £9,500 back for it against the new NT1100 that made my shit itch, but that was a proper piss take from Triumph !!

Rant over: I will find another Triumph dealers where the salesmen are not space cadets and there sniffing organ's are not full of modern chemistry as this fucktard's obviously was, I almost asked him if he was using the whole fist !!

Id rather just leave it in the garage and never use it again, put it next to my R1150 GSA SE and just look at them both, than accept that

Rob

Looks great , apart from the hideous old LCD clocks

NT1100 ? Wtf are you thinking ? Surely there’s a Hornet 1000 SP with your name on it ? 🤔

LOL nice bike but the lack of panniers top box screen and all the rest of the tourie bits rules that out although the New X-ADV would do a decent job of the touring side of things !! MMMM never say never LOL

Had a sit on one of these at the Salon du 2 roues in Lyon the other day, I really liked it

Build quality was typical Triumph high standard, the yellow paint job looks great in the flesh, really deep and a bit pearlescent

Liked the ergonomics, I think it would be comfortable for touring, plenty of power and a normal triple rather than the t-plane version

It would be a bit too small for me physically for two up touring but if I rode solo I’d definitely give one a test ride (y)

Expensive when you add farkles

Mine is in early !! collect it Tuesday after next specked it with the GT pack which includes panniers, colour coded pannier infills, heated grips, Handguards, also bought the large top box, with colour coded infil, top box rack and center stand, all will be fitted for collection apart from the Center stand which is on back order till August, Looking forward to getting it but will keep the Transalp as we are going a 5 day tour around wales from Tuesday

Went to Triumph East London today had a look at the bike and a sit on it, it feels small compared to the Transalp but the seat height feels about the same as the Tranny with the comfort seat on it, felt lighter albeit its 5kg heavier, all my bits are ordered and should be here Wednesday/ Thursday of next week, Im off to wales on the Tranny Thursday till Monday so will collect the bike Tuesday the 29th looking forward to getting it but really looking forward to Wales on the Honda, did a 200 mile ride yesterday in prep for Wales, faultless!!

It looks like a really nice bike, the styling looks (to me at least) like the 2nd gen Yamaha Fazer 600 circa 2003, but I still like that Yamaha anyway! I have a Tracer GT+ and it will be interesting to see how it compares.

Although the 2003 Fazer has a more modern dash 😜
