differences on Airheads...........

Had a quick spin around on another airhead bike and found that I could turn tighter feet up circles than on my own bike.

Had a peek under the headlight on mine and found the culprit. There was a nut and bolt in the turning stops restricting the lock.

Now removed and all is ok. Can only guess that they are there for different models. RT/RS etc.

There would be. Thats what its for. Its a lock stop. Probably put there by BMW when they built the mototcycle to restrict the turning movement of the forks and stop any potential conflict with steering suspension forks electrics and handlebars etc with other parts of the motorcycle.

Different lock depending on model, RS models in particular have very limited steering lock. ... usually a push fit stud of various lengths rather than a nut and bolt.

Guzzis do that too.
Mine had similar when i got it - presumably due to the patio door fairing .
Previous owner said he felt the Bike was too big and awkward for him to handle, especially at low speed, hence him selling it :( .
When i took out the nut and bolt and removed the pointless steering damper - it was amazing how 'nimble' the Bike suddenly became. :green gri
