Hi

I am looking for opinions on getting TV through my PC.

Do I go down the TV card , or the www.skytvonpc.co.uk route ?

Has any one used these on line tv companies ? It seems too good to be true ( and so usually is ) £ 4.99 for sky access through your PC, there has got to be a catch.

Thanks for your opinions

I lost my spare portable TV upstairs to a good cause and ventured £60 on a Hauppauge Win Nova-T. It gives me all the Freeview channels happily, I can snapshot images to disk and I can record to hard disk too. They do external versions too.

It ran happily on my old Pentium III 1GHz machine and is even happier now I have an Athlon 64 system. SOme applications upset it but usually only other video based apps when everything gets confused...

The two 19 inch monitors help too:D but it ran happily on a single monitor on the old machine. The black blob on a cable under the screen is the IR receiver for the remote control.

Thanks for the reply. I was sort of going down this route anyway, and you have confirmed what I was thinking.

Cheers
