Errr....RTFM. Or take seat off and look at the tyre pressure sticker.

Only in the 1200 section.

I had hoped for a while there that having answered his question quickly, the poor chap would get away with it.....

And being pedantic about it, the pressures usually get related to solo riding or with a passanger, not loaded minus passenger....oh god, here we go again...:D

Well if you cant make an educated guess from the information provided in the manual or under the seat, then may the Lord help you...

It's a reasonable question

I think it's a reasonable question, anyway.
My BMW manual (R1200GS 2004) says 32/36 psi for solo riding, but the Dunlop guide online says 36/42 psi for solo riding on my recently fitted TR91s (although they give it in bar).
That's a significant difference. I'm a skinny bleeder and a compromiser by nature so I use 34-35 front & 39-40 rear.
My tyres usually need changing because of wear in the centre (not down to legal limit but when I get fed up of inconsistent corner roll-in & increasing squirm over white lines, etc). I don't know if they are squaring off because I don't manage enough (any!) demon cornering or because of tyre pressures...but if I'm under-inflating, that wouldn't prematurely wear the centre, if I understand it right.
This is my first set of TR91s, though. I previously used Tourances and ran them at the manual recommended pressures. The Metzeler website says "You will find the correct pressure in the operating manual of the motorcycle. Use METZELER’s information only as reference" but quotes 36/42 for Tourances on a 1200GS, so I might have been on the low side.
I live on the Isle of Man, so my riding isn't predominantly long distance/straightline.
Who knows?

ARRGGHH! - this has at least 5 pages in it for sure....

Now whos' going to ask the first question about what oil to use to sort out their front wheel wobble........

I (currently) run a Yamaha Diversion 900 at 36/42. Its a similar weight to a BMW GS without the suspension sophistication. Fronts always worn on the shoulders and rears square off. Chicken strips are around 1/4". My front Maxxis Supermax now has 13K and getting stepped but still handles ok. The rear Conti-Motion has 6K and squaring off but not yet due for replacement.

Based on all that I would go for the 36/42 on the Beemer.

Thanks for your help and just a quickie "what should be the oil level you see through the ROUND window"...Don't answer as this is a JOKE

When i had tourance on i ran 36/42 all the time but since changing to pr3 i had to drop to 32/36 as i found the higher pressures were far to hard and very skitty (if there is such a word) i will go to 34/40 with pillion and fully loaded, hope this helps

OK, I should have checked....

My BMW manual (R1200GS 2004) says 32/36 psi for solo riding, but the Dunlop guide online says 36/42 psi .

I'm quoting my own earlier post. I did a search and found that the bike vs tyre manufacturer recommended pressure thing has been covered more than once on the forum. Should have done the search first.

I must be very unsophisticated. My pressures have to be really different before I notice the effect while riding. I noticed when I got a screw in the front and it went down to 20psi, but 32 vs 34? Nah!

But then I don't mind the OE seat

Phew; another like minded individual. You are right, the pressures really do need to be quite a bit different to be able to notice it. I defy anyone to take the "Pepsi Challenge" on a GS over 32psi vs 34psi (or even a greater difference). I can't get over how anal folks are about these things....but then this is the 1200 section.

OT: But OE seat also fine for me, but I do throw a £10 sheepskin on for 300+ mile days.
