Hi

After a break in commuting to London for a couple of years, I've been back on the bike, as the storm took my broadband and phone line down and after almost 3 weeks BT still haven't fixed it (that's another story though...).

Going home on Monday, I was about 10 miles from home and the tyre pressure warning was flashing red and showing 0.0 bar on the rear tyre, although the bike still felt fine. Stopping to investigate, all feels normal at the rear, so I continue. Couple of miles down the road, the flashing stops, and goes back to reading 2.5 bar as normal.

This happened again Tuesday and Wednesday on a couple of occasions, but was ok this morning on the way in.

I'm suspecting the battery needs replacement, but has anyone else experienced something similar to this? The bike is a 2012 GSA and this morning, passed 155k (still going perfectly well, although it's cosmetically suffering from being ridden through at least 6 winters here).

Cheers - Guy

10 yrs old. Sounds like sensor batteries to me. Couple of threads on here of how to replace them.
Expecting mine to need doing any time now.

Might just have been a glitch though. Is it happening at the same place each time (interference??).

It's been quite random so far. Did it for the first time Monday evening, then Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning. Wednesday evening and this morning have been ok. Will be getting a broken spoke replaced on the rear this eving, so can look at changing the battery at the same time and hopefully this will rectify.

I do keep thinking it's time to upgrade to an LC GSA, but if I'm going to start to do my 'normal' commuting mileage again I may wait a couple of years until the clock's up to 200k - assuming it retains its reliability

i have a nice 2012 gs rallye for sale if you want a replacement, only done 25000 miles, just had a new pair of metzler tourance next fitted.
